Issue:

As Main Topic: The most direct and popular one will be Football or Soccer, and of course that one included in a wider SportsTopic.

Then, inside FootballTopic, the release is focus in the Personalityof Alcides Ghighia, the Uruguayan Football Player that scores the second goal for Uruguay in the Final Match of the World Cup Brazil 1950, the goal which gives Uruguayit Forth World Cup, in the great "Maracaná" Stadium of Rio de Janeiro, in front of 200.000 astonished Brazilian fans, situation that made that this match was known worldwide as the "Marcanazo".

Then, surrounding the main topic, could be found the followings:Besides a Classic, or at least more known, Collection about Football World Cup History, or Football History, this release could be useful for one about Famous Football Players, and also for Significant Football Matches, as it honour One of the most worldwide known players in History of Football, and surely The most famous match in Football History.

Also, undoubtedly, this release, issued just some days before the intial match of the World Cup Brazil 2014, makes a clear reference to this World Cup too, also hosted by Brazil, and probably is the way that the post office found to express the desire of all Uruguayan Football Fans, that is to see Uruguay winning again the World Cup, and this imminent World Cup also in Brazil, was seen as a great opportunity for obtaining the Fith World Cup for Uruguay.

Now, regarding the desing of the stamps: It is a nicely composed Se-Tenant showing a WatercolourPaintings of "two Alcides Ghiggia", the young one, in the precise moment that he become a Legend of Football History, after scoring the Second goal of the Final Matchof World Cup Brazil 1950, and the elderly one that participated in the Ceremony of the Final Draw of the World Cup Brazil 2014.

Then, the background of both stamps, with the green, yellow, and light blue curved lines, resembles in some way, the design of the "Brazuca", the Ball which was used for the World Cup Brazil 2014.

Also, the FlagsTopic is added by the stamps design, as in both of them the Flag of Uruguay is included.

And, the Flag of Uruguay includes the presence of the Sun, and with this the Topics Astronomy and Space are linked by this issue, and in particular this Sun, the Sun of May refers to the May Revolution, a week-long series of events that took place from May 18 to 25, 1810, in Buenos Aires, capital of the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata. This Spanish colony included roughly the territories of present-day Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay. The result was the removal of Viceroy Baltasar Hidalgo de Cisnerosand the establishment of a local government, the Primera Junta (First Junta), on May 25. It is also claimed that the Sun of May is a representation of the Inca Sun god Inti, and also another view is that is influenced by the emblem of the French Revolution, and that emblem was taken from the Freemasonic representations of the All-seeing eye.

Finally, in a more symbolic way: This release, leaving aside, the anecdote, the personality, and the previous presented facts, gives me the flavour of Timein first place, and also spot the Magnificent Importance that Minimum Events has in the History of one Human Being.

Stamp 1:

The Stamp 1: Introduce a reference to the Old Balls, that were used many years ago for Football Matches, and were very different to the ones used nowadays, showing the one which was used in the Final Match of World Cup Brazil 1950.

The other thing that has in particular this stamp, is it strong reference to the World Cup Brazil 1950, it Final Match, called "Maracanazo", and the 2 - 1 Goal, that was the Last Goal of this World Cup, and the one that made Uruguay Win the World Cup Brazil 1950, when showing a WatercolourPainting of a Famous Picturetaken just a few second after the goal was scored.

In the scene a young Alcides Ghiggia is shown Celebrating his Goal, after the Ball hit the Bar and cross over the Goal Line.

Stamp 2:

The Stamp 2: Showing the WatercolourPaintingversion of a recent picture of Alcides Ghiggia, now as the Legend, and not as the Football Player.

Also, it is this stamp, the one that could relate this release to Elderly o Ancient Topic.

Block:

The block: Reinforce the relation with the Ball Topic in general, and in particular with the "Brazuca" one, the Ball used for the World Cup Brazil 2014, as the design of lines Yellow, Green and Light Blue, that was in the background of the stamps is continued in the Block, making more evident the relation with the "Brazuca" ball.

However, the most clear reference to the Ball, is not the printed design of the Block, it is the Shape of it, as it is an Odd Shaped Block, more precisely a Circular Shaped Block.

FDC:

The desing of the First Day Cancelation: Reinforces the conection of the release with the "Maracaná" Stadium, as it shows an aerial view of it.

The cancelation shows the New Version of the "Maracaná" Stadium, the one after the renovation made for the World Cup Brazil 2014, this could be infered because the roof of the new version of the Stadiumis more abarcative and have a different desing in comparation with the older one, and this new design is the one shown in the cancellation.

Another interesting detail that could be spot, is the large Access Ramps, that mades possible the access to the Stadium for Disabled Peopleor Handicapped People.

If you consider that there are another topics in this stamp, that were not spot in this review, you are encouraged to telling me about them, so please do not hesitate to post a comment. I would appreciate your help very much.

Topics:

Issue:

As Main Topic: Architecture is clearly the most representative Topic of the Stamp, that could be also included in a wider Arts.

Then, more in particular it Professionals, the Architectsare perhaps more clearly the Main Topic of this Release instead of Architecture itself, and in particular the Uruguayan Architects who could be viewed as inside the Association of Architects of Uruguay, Instittution whose Centenary is celebrated by this Release.

Then, surrounding the main topic, could be found the followings: The first is Centenary, then, as Association of Architects of Uruguay works as the Union of Architects, Labour rights and Unionscould be also Topics of this Release, and finally, as focus is put in the Professionals, this issue could be related to a JobsTopic too.

Now, regarding the desing of the stamp:Besides reinforcing the Topic Architectureby showing a well designed Building, it also reinforce it as it is the Headquarters of the Faculty of Architecture, the Buildingwhich was selected for the Pictureshown in the Stamp.

The Headquarters of the Faculty of Architecture was designed by the Architects: Román Fresnedo Siriand Mario Muccinelli, inaugurated in 1948, and declared National Historical Monument on year 2000.

The Faculty of Architecture is one of the Faculties of the University of the Republic, in Spanish "Universidad de la República" or "UdelaR", State and Free University of Uruguay, the most important, oldest, and largest university of the country, with a student body of more than 80,000 students, founded on July 18, 1849 in Montevideo, where most of its buildings and facilities are still located. Then, Topics asState Education, Free Education, inside a wider Education, are tangentially included in this Release.

The design of the Stamp is completed with the Logotype of Association, that is mainly a Ionic Capital of a Column with a Face Sculpted in it Center, that it could made the Release useful for Columns and Sculpture Topics and even the Ionic Order, and also Greek Cultureones.

The last topics identified are Vegetablesor Florabecause of the Lawnsurrounding the building and one Bushthat is also shown in the Picture.

Finally, in a more symbolic way:besides that all Centenaries, specially in a Country relatively young as it is Uruguay, reinforces the History, and in this case the Uruguayan History, Topic. I think that the selection of a Picture of the Headquarters of the Faculty of Architecture, and not one of the Headquarters of the Association being honoured, symbolize the Recognition , Gratitude and Attachment of the Association to his House of Study.

Block:

The block: Although including only the legend and the proof of colour on the right-top corner of the Block, with this last item introduce an item that is not commonly seen in stamps, that is the Compass, or Pair of Compasses, a Technical Drawing Instrument that can be used for inscribing circles or arcs, and as dividers, they can also be used as Tools to Measure Distances, in particular on Maps. Compassescan be used also for Mathematics, Drafting, and Navigation.

FDC:

The desing of the First Day Cancelation:Did not add new topics and only reinforces the ColumnsSculpture, Ionic Order, and Greece Culture Topics, as it only shows, the Logotype of the Association, that as was stated before, could be useful for Collections in the mentioned Topics.

Issue:

As Main Topic: It will be Sportsfor sure. Perhaps the unusual of this release is that the focus is in Amauter Sport, which is not much seen in Philately. Then going to more specific topics, University Sportwill appear first, and then the Uruguayan University Sports League itself, as being commemorated their 100 Yearsof life.

Then, surrounding the main topic, could be found the followings:First, the CentenaryTopic, then also an UniversityTopic or a wider EducationTopic, and finally  the combination of Sports and more Formal Educationthat is one teached in Universities, gives as a connection with HealthTopic, or Healthy Activities Topic.

Now, regarding the desing of the stamp: Besides reinforcing Sports Topic in as much ways as possible, it also includes a reference to many paticular Sports with Icons that represent them. The Sports shown in the design are: Indoor Soccer, Volleyball, Hockey, Handball, Football or Soccer, Beach Soccer, Swimming, Tennis, and Basketball.

Another interesting inclusion in the ten icons that shows all the activities of the Uruguayan Sport University League is one that is not considered a Sport, as it is not Physical, that is the Gameof Chess.

Diving deeper in the Design of the Stamp, the Book in the center could be an item selected for a Topic, or also a connection for a wider Education or LiteratureTopic. Then, a popular Topic that is Horse Topic, is represented also by this release, in the figure of the Chess Knight that is shown with another Chess Pieces in the Chessicon. Also, in the Centenary Logotype it is shown a Stylized figure of a Man in the act of Run, so, Running or Atletism, although not shown in the Icons as it was done with the other Sports, it is also represented in the Stamp design.

Even more deep, a ParasolItem is shown, and besides that Topic, Beach and Tourism could be infered too. Also, Tennis Racket, Hockey Stick, Basketball Hoop , and Also, all type of Balls are shown in the stamp design.

Finally, in a more symbolic way: I think that the release put the Focus on the Exisence and Permanence of the combination of Physical and Intelectual Activities in order to make a Healthy Life, honouring the existence of this institution, the Sport University League, that althought not being in the Front view of what we know as the Academic Life, managed to Serve, through a whole Century, as a connection of lot of Students between themselves, and with many Sports, Intelectual, and Social Activities, that the Universityitself it is not able to provide.

Label:

The desing of the Label: Did not add any Topic, only it could reinforce the Ballone, as it includes the Logotypeof the Sport University League that has a Ballin it.

Block:

The desing of the Block: Adding a the Centenary Logotypethat shows a Stylized figure of a Man in the act of Run, as the icon selected to show the inks used in printing the Block, reinforces the Sports Topic, in particular Runningor Atletism.

FDC:

The desing of the First Day Cancelation: Mades the same that the Block does, by including the Centenary Logotypethat shows a Stylized figure of a Man in the act of Run, reinforcing the SportsTopic, in particular Runningor Atletism, and as it add also the "100" number, also reinforces CentenaryTopic.

If you consider that there are another topics in this stamp, that were not spot in this review, you are encouraged to telling me about them, so please do not hesitate to post a comment. I would appreciate your help very much.
